Alex Metaxas is a successful Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) and a former Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
He has extensive leadership experience in governance, general management, and financial comptrollership.
As a public servant, he worked tirelessly for 10 years to enhance accountability in the public sector and enhance the efficiency of government spending, so that the right programs could receive the right funding for the right people. He serves with integrity, rigour and dedication.

Alex understands the importance of unity in community. He previously served on his community's Board of Directors and volunteered with various veteran and homeless non-profit organizations. He is a pro bono member of the CPA Ontario Adjudicative Tribunals.

Before Law School, Alex served in the Canadian Armed Forces. Teamwork, loyalty and responsibility are central to his philosophy. He was awarded the General Campaign Star (Expedition) and the Canadian Forces Decoration for honourable service.

Alex is committed to the pursuit of excellence. He has been distinguished with a Special Operations Forces Commanding Officer's Commendation and was recognized as the Navy's Top Logistics Officer in the Fleet.

Having travelled throughout Canada and all around the world, he appreciates the need for a genuine and unrelenting pursuit of innovation and sustainability in our environmental, economic, and social eco-systems.
FAMILY, COMMUNITY, LIFE.
Alex is a loving husband and a proud father. His wife is a local healthcare hero, having been part of the small group of Registered Nurses that treated the first positive cases of COVID in Ottawa. Alex and his family share care and compassion with the community each and every day.

Alex was born in Edmonton, Alberta and was raised by parents of immigrant descent. True to his heritage, he values hard work, a diversity of perspective, and most importantly, maintaining a steady hand in the face of adversity.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario and completed further studies at the Universities of Athabasca (Alberta), Thomspon Rivers (British Columbia), and the Royal Military College of Canada (Ontario).
